The major design areas are as follows:

Application Designs

This section includes application designs for the HLR, SMSC, IN, LNP, CS/AIN, OpenSwitch, Asterisk PBX and Kannel projects.

SS7 Stack Design

This section presents designs for the SS7 stack components: MTP3, SCCP, TCAP, ISUP, BICC.

ISDN Stack Design

This section presents designs for the ISDN-related stack components: ISDN, DL, V5.2, GR-303.

SS7 over IP Design

This section presents designs for the SIGTRAN components: M2UA, M3UA, SUA, and TUA; and the TALI components: TALI.

VoIP Stack Design

This section presents designs for the VoIP stack components: H225, SIPT, and BICC over SSCOPMCE.

MG Switching Design

This section presents designs for the MG switching components: CH, MX, MG, MGCP, MEGACO H248, H245, RTP.

Transport Design

This section provides designs for transport components such as Stream Control Transmission Protoocl (SCTP), TCP, UDP and SSCOP-MCE.

SS7/ISDN Device Driver Design

This section presents designs for the device drivers for the ACB56, UDP, and M2PA (over SCTP) and MTP3b (over SSCOP-MCE).

Embedded System Design

This section presents designs for embedded system development for the OpenSS7 SS7 stack. These discuss using blade architectures with OpenSS7.

Linux Kernel Design (Deprecated)

Writing Device Drivers (Deprecated)

These pages provide a description of the original Linux Kernel Native SS7 stack design. This implementation was abandonned in favor of the STREAMS implementation using the LiS. (Linux STREAMS) package available under LGPL from Gcom.
