strxnet 0.9.2-4 Released -- This is a separate release of the OpenSS7 X/Open XTI/TLI library, TLI modules (timod, tirdwr) and the INET driver (inet) that provides Unix98 compatible interface to Linux NET4 TCP/IP stacks, and all the necessary manpages and other documentation. Although these components are contained in our LiS and Linux Fast-STREAMS releases, this tarball configures, builds and installs these components separate from those releases.

This release is available as a tar-ball. See the downloads page for the autoconf tar balls.

This release compiles, installs and builds rpms for Fedora Core 1 (FC1), Whitebox Enterprise Linux (WBEL) and RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 (EL3). This release also contains a few minor fixes for symbolic links and t_rcvconnect() behavior.

The release has a couple of corrections to the build process, change in order to the 'rebuild' target so that rpm debug package is correctly built, and corrections to the install-strip target to avoid stripping module parameters.

This release has the ability to suppress versionsing of LiS exported symbols; corrects a few minor errors in the build process, corrects the install-strip target, adds memory versions of io wrappers, lis_printk patches placed on linux-stream list, HP patches, modifications to putq, putbq, insq, appq; and dejagnu patches.

The release cross-builds for embedded targets such as NexusWare, and can be used with an LiS 2.16 that has already been build for such a target. It might also be useful with LiS 2.17 beta releases for which there is yet no rpm release.

This release has enhancements to the build process and options and provides more reliable kernel symbol ripping. This release might, therefore, build better on SuSE. It fixes a few minor bugs. Manpages now automagically compress on install. RPMs for newer RH kernels are provided.

This release has greatly enhanced cross-build and cross-compile support, primarily in support of the NexusWare embedded target. Builds clean against NexusWare release 810p0674.10-rc4. Instructions for NexusWare embedded targets added to the manual.

This release has added defaults for SK_WMEM_MAX and SK_RMEM_MAX for lastest 2.4.25 and 2.4.26 kernel builds and an enhanced build process. All kernel symbols exported by LiS are versioned on kernels that have versioned symbols. This makes it safer to compile kernel modules against kernel/LiS combinations. This is in preparation for splitting off the strxnet package, and the technique was imported from the Linux Fast-STREAMS build. See ChangeLog and NEWS in the release for more information.

Linux Native SCTP Prerelease2-19 -- OpenSS7 announces Prerelease2-10 of the Linux Native SCTP implementation. This release provides significant performance improvements over previous release. In addition, this release is available as an SRPM and a set of RPMS for recent RedHat kernels. See the downloads page for the patch tarballs. In addition, we have posted SCTP Performance test results using the iperf test program. A modified version of iperf 1.6.5 is also available on the downloads page.

New SIGTRAN Drafts -- The latest SIGTRAN drafts have been released, including the latest test specifications for M2PA: draft-bidulock-sigtran-m2pa-test-04.pdf. See the SIGTRAN page for more details.

OpenSS7 Website Updated! -- The OpenSS7 Website has been updated with the latest information on most all of the pages. We have added a htdig search engine as well as a man2html script for viewing OpenSS7 man pages online. It would be well worth the time to walk the site at see the changes.

Linux Native SCTP Prerelease2-16 -- OpenSS7 announces Prerelease2-16 of the Linux Native SCTP implementation. This release incorporates the latest changes to PR-SCTP. This release replaces Prerelease2-15.

Linux Native SCTP Prerelease2-15 -- OpenSS7 announces Prerelease2-15 of the Linux Native SCTP implementation. This release contains updates to the ADD-IP and PR-SCTP implementations as well as minor bug fixes.

OpenSS7 strinet now in LiS! -- OpenSS7 is proud to announce that our STREAMS based INET (strinet) package has been included directly in the LiS (Linux STREAMS) source. The package provides SOCKSYS STREAMS based TPI access to Linux TCP/IP stacks and, in the next release, our Linux kernel SCTP stack as well. New OpenSS7 Web Resources -- After some difficulties with script kiddies, the OpenSS7 Project has launched its new website. New features include our Bug Reporting system, CVS viewers, CVS access, anonymous RSYNC access, anonymous FTP access, and expanded mailing lists.
