The Mandate for the OpenSS7 Project is as follows:

The implementation of a GPL'ed source package for the Linux operating system (an possibly other Unices) which provides an implementation of an SS7 stack which may be redundantly distributed over a number of host machines for the development and integration of applications based on SS7 and SS7-related protocols.
