Asterisk PBX

Overview:-

The Asterisk PBX is an Open Source project which provides a software-based PBX functionality. (Hey, it would be the first time that a PBX grew into a telephone switch.) This project is to add SS7 FGD trunking capabilities to the Asterisk PBX as enabled by the OpenSS7 SS7 and IP stacks.

This project focuses on the SCCP and TCAP capabilities of the OpenSS7 stack. It utilizes SUA and TUA for redunancy and reliability and supports TALI integration to Tekelec IP7 and other TALI compliant products.

History:-

This project began in August 2000.

Status:-

This project is in the Proposal stage.

This project is stalled. Although some interest was expressed on the mailing list, insufficient interest has been shown to get this project started again. See the openss7 mail archives and if you are interested in furthering this project, hit the mailing list.

Dependencies:-

This project depends upon the OpenSS7 SS7 stack and in particular the ISUP, SCCP, TCAP, M3UA, SUA, TUA or TALI components.
