Internet Protocol (IP)

Overview:-
The Internet Protocol (IP) Transport Provider Interface (TPI)
access component is an implementation of a STREAMS driver which
provides TPI access to the native Linux NET4 IP implementation.
IP is a fundamental component for IP transport components.

|
History:-
Work on the IP transport component begain in January 2001.
|
|
|
Status:-
The STREAMS IP interface to the Linux NET4 UDP is in the
Maintenance stage.
|
|
|
Dependencies:-
The current STREAMS INET interface release depends on a Linux 2.4.x
kernel and a current LiS (e.g. 2.16.16). This INET interface package is
an integral component of the current LiS releases and need not be
downloaded separately.

Designs for the IP components can be viewed here.

Code:-
Code for the Transport Provider Interface (TPI) to Linux NET4 IP
has been publicly released. The code for this component can be
viewed here.
Maintenance and feature enhancement updates are normally publicly
released as soon as they become available. Current updates will
also be incorporated into future LiS releases.

Test Results:-
Test programs and test results have been publicly release and are part
of the public release package.

Release Package:-
A number of packages have been released:
- strinet-0.8.2b.tgz

This is an LiS STREAMS Beta release for the STREAMS INET
kernel implementation. This release is now an integral part
of current LiS releases.
