IUA - ISDN-User Adaptation Layer (IUA)

draft-ietf-sigtran-rfc3057bis
-00.txt
ISDN Q.921-User Adaptation Layer

This document defines a protocol for backhauling of ISDN Q.921 User messages over IP using the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP). This protocol would be used between a Signaling Gateway (SG) and Media Gateway Controller (MGC). It is assumed that the SG receives ISDN signaling over a standard ISDN interface.

IUA (RFC 3057) Outstanding Issues

This document captures problems and issues discovered on the SIGTRAN mailing list and at future interops for IUA [RFC3057]. This document will be updated after each interop augmenting the existing draft to include any new issues discovered during inter-operability testing. Two basic sets of problems are identified by this draft: first, issues that need to be addressed when the next revision of IUA is created, i.e. issues that should be remembered in a BIS document; second, issues that were found that are strictly implementation problems.

Conformance Test Specification for IUA

This Internet Draft presents a test specification for RFC 3057 which defines the ISDN Q.921-User Adaptation protocol along with IUA Outstanding Issues . This test specification can be used to test IUA implementations for conformance to the IUA protocol definition.

Next revision of the draft will cover the additions done to the protocol revision and any subsequent RFC published by IETF.

DPNSS/DASS 2 extensions to the IUA protocol

This document defines a mechanism for backhauling of DPNSS [2] and DASS2 [3] messages over IP by extending the ISDN User Adaptation Layer Protocol [1]. This document aims to become an Appendix to IUA [1] and to be the base for a DPNSS/DASS User Adaptation (DUA) implementation.

V5.2-User Adaptation Layer (V5UA)

This document defines a mechanism for backhauling of V5.2 messages over IP using the Stream control Transmission Protocol (SCTP). This protocol would be used between a Signaling Gateway (SG) and a Media Gateway controller (MGC). It is assumed that the SG receives V5.2 sig- naling over a standard V5.2 interface.

This document aims to build on top of the ISDN User Adaptation Layer Protocol (RFC 3057). It defines all differences to the IUAP needed for the V5.2 implementation.

GR-303 extensions to the IUA protocol

This document defines a mechanism for backhauling of GR-303 [2] messages over IP by extending the ISDN User Adaptation Layer Protocol [3] and to be the base for a GR-303 User Adaptation (GR- 303UA) implementation.
