IP SS7 Device Driver


Overview:-	This is the IPSS7 network driver of the OpenSS7 SIGTRAN stack. This component implements SS7 link functions over UDP in a STREAMS module. The IPSS7 STREAMS module provides the Signalling Data Terminal Interface (SDTI). The IPSS7 STREAMS mdoule can be pushed over a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) or other Transport Provider Interface (TPI) connectionless stream to provide an IPSS7 link.

History:-	The IPSS7 component was started in January 2000.

Status:-	The IPSS7 component of the OpenSS7 stack is in the Maintenance stage; however, it has been rewritten on a number of occasions.

Dependencies:-	This component depends on the SS7 MTP Level 2 Signalling Data Terminal Interface (SDTI) and Transport Provider Interface (TPI) access to the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) or other connectionless transport.

Release Package:-	The IPSS7 driver is an integral part of the OpenSS7 SIGTRAN stack and will be included in upcoming major releases. The IPSS7 driver has been publicly released in the following release packages: strss7-0.8.2.tgz This is the current Linux 2.4.x LiS STREAMS release of the OpenSS7 SS7 stack. strss7-0.7.8.tgz This is a deprecated release which is replaced by more current strss7 releases above. strss7-0.7.4.tgz This is a deprecated release which is replaced by more current strss7 releases above. strss7-0.7.2.tgz This is a deprecated release which is replaced by more current strss7 releases above.
